We asked some kids around the Quad Cities what a credit union was. Do YOU know what we do?
The Family Credit Union and other similar institutions around the country are non-profit financial institutions owned by their members. We offer services of all kinds like checking, savings, loans, and other financial planning and services.

Important Characteristics that Make TFCU Different
Still wondering “What is a credit union?” While we share some characteristics with banks, there are some important differences as well, let’s take a look at a few!
Credit Unions are Not-For-Profit Organizations
The purpose of a credit union is to support the well-being of its members.
When a TFCU is profitable, those profits are in-turn returned to our members in the form of lower fees, more affordable loan rates, and higher savings rates. The benefits go back to the member.
Members are Owners
As a member of TFCU, you are also an owner. This means you have a say in how things are run. There is also a volunteer board of directors that help manage the everyday functions of our locations.
Financial Education and Literacy are a Large Part of Who We Are
Your financial well-being is at the center of what we do, and helping you have access to the tools you need to meet your financial goals is important to us.
