The Family Credit Union would like to help you get to know our Summer Fun Partners: The Quad Cities Botanical Center, The Family Museum, The Putnam Museum, and Moline Parks & Bass Street Landing. Get the family ready for some exciting events this summer!

TFCU’s Summer Fun Parters

The Family Museum

The Family Museum in Bettendorf, Iowa, is a vibrant and interactive space designed to engage children and families in learning through play. Here are some of the key highlights:

1. Interactive Exhibits

  • Fox Hollow: A small-town exhibit where children can role-play in different community roles such as a veterinarian, grocery store clerk, or mechanic.
  • George’s Farm: A hands-on exhibit that introduces kids to farm life, including activities like milking a cow, planting crops, and learning about farm animals.
  • Lil’ Mississippi: An exhibit that simulates the Mississippi River, allowing children to explore the concepts of water flow, dams, and boats.

2. Science and Art Studio

The studio offers a variety of art and science activities, from painting and crafting to experimenting with different materials and scientific principles. This space encourages creativity and curiosity through hands-on projects.

3. Family Museum Theater

The theater hosts performances, puppet shows, and educational presentations. It provides an engaging way for families to enjoy live entertainment and learn through storytelling and performances.

4. Outdoor Play Area

The outdoor play area includes a playground designed for children of different age groups. It features climbing structures, slides, and interactive play equipment that promote physical activity and imaginative play.

5. Tot Town

This area is specifically designed for the youngest visitors, offering a safe and stimulating environment for toddlers. It includes soft play structures, interactive toys, and activities that encourage sensory exploration.

6. Imagination Studio

A creative space where children can explore various forms of art and craft. This studio offers different materials and tools for drawing, painting, sculpting, and more, allowing kids to express their artistic side.

The Family Museum is chock full of summer fun! We love our partnership with them. Enjoy $5.00 admission on Mondays during the summer.

The Quad Cities Botanical Center

The Quad Cities Botanical Center in Rock Island, Illinois, offers several highlights that make it a notable destination for plant enthusiasts and visitors of all ages. Here are some of the key attractions:

1. Sun Garden Conservatory

The Putnam Museum

The Putnam Museum and Science Center in Davenport has been inspiring curiosity for over 150 years. With immersive exhibits, hands-on STEM activities, and world-class displays on science, history, and culture, the Putnam is a favorite destination for families, school groups, and lifelong learners alike.

One of the museum’s most popular attractions is the “Dino Days” exhibit, which brings the world of dinosaurs and paleontology to life through engaging displays, interactive elements, and fascinating fossil discoveries. Here are some of the key highlights of the exhibit:

Dino Days:

  • Meet a Paleontologist: Visitors have the unique opportunity to meet a paleontologist, providing a firsthand learning experience from an expert in the field. This interaction allows guests to ask questions and gain deeper insights into the world of dinosaurs and paleontology.
  • Fossil Dig: One of the most engaging activities is the Fossil Dig, where participants can uncover treasures just like real paleontologists. This hands-on experience is both educational and fun, making it a highlight for visitors of all ages.
  • Face Painting: Unleash your inner artist with dinosaur-themed face painting. This activity adds a creative and playful element to the exhibit, allowing children to transform into their favorite prehistoric creatures.
  • Photo Booth: Capture memories at the Photo Booth, where families can take fun and themed photos. This interactive element provides a great way to commemorate your visit to Dino Days.
  • Giant Screen Theater Movies: Your Dino Day ticket includes access to your choice of three thrilling movies: the new and exciting “T. Rex”, the beloved favorite “Dino Dana,”, and crowd pleaser “Dinosaurs Alive!” playing at the Giant Screen Theater.
